Introducing the Orange/iCampus Hackathon Attendees : Kate Hunder

Kate is an emerging technologist and a third-year student at BlueCrest University College Liberia. She is specializing in software engineering to support a system that curates mobile platforms for e-learning and information storage. After conducting a private assessment all by herself, Kate discovers that most Liberian girls rarely pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). That realization led Kate to establish the Girls Tech Club, an academic platform that encourages girls all across Liberia to pursue careers in STEM.

At the Orange/iCampus Hackathon scheduled May 30 and May 31, Kate will invent real-world ideas on how technology can be leveraged to address complex social issues that generally affect Liberians.

The hackathon generally seeks to address social issues by providing technological solutions and savvy approach to problem-solving. Participants will curate constructive talking points around the positive use of technology in addressing economic, social and health-related issues.
